Au cœur de Paris, les jardins du Carrousel et des Tuileries, situés entre le Louvre et la place de la Concorde et bordés par la Seine et la rue de Rivoli, sont fréquentés chaque année par environ 14 millions de visiteurs. Depuis 2005, c'est le musée du Louvre qui en assure la gestion et la mise en valeur.

Jardin du Carrousel is the official name for the space around the Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel, built to celebrate Napoleon's victory at Austerlitz (a carrousel is a horse parade). Jacques Wirtz was landscape architect for the space around the arch. It looks entirely appropriate on plan but is less successful on the ground.
